I received my iJoy as a gift and what a gift it is! I am sitting in it now as I type this review and it is SO relaxing. I have neck and back problems and by the end of the day my muscles are very tight. the iJoy helps tremendously. It also works well on my lower back. I usually use the full body massage and really feel like I get a complete massage after 15 minutes - but I always press the button again and repeat the experience. It gets rid of all the tension in my body and helps me get a good night's sleep.

I will agree, a word of caution about shipping, this item ONLY ships via ground freight. DO NOT choose any method of shipping other than free or standard. It has been hard for me to recieve a refund for my shipping charge. That being said, this chair is awesome. My wife and I use it almost daily. I am a 6'1" burly guy who works for a living, and it is easily able to massage my entire back, from my neck, to my upper lumbar. repositioning myself a little, and it will reach down to my upper buttock. Deffinately has the strength to push me around, litterally. My wife is 5'6", slender build, and she has similar results, occasionally sitting herself on a pillow to gain an inch or two of height. The massage can be softened with the provided pad, or used without it for a deeper massage. Without the pad the "hands" truly kneed deeply into your muscles, providing that good kind of hurt you know your back needs to get back to normal. I will certainly say that this is by far the best chair for the money. It easily rivals the pay by the minute chairs found at most shopping malls. In fact my uncle has a bulky and very expensive massage chair of his own that i have tried several times, the massage quality is nearly identical. (LOL, his chair cost nearly 10 times more t

I purchased this chair 4 years ago and am a mechanical engineer.
At the 14 month point, (2 months after the warranty expired) the chair stopped working. I took it apart and discovered the upper journal bearing had cracked and failed. This is the bearing which holds the massage mechanism. It bears all of your back weight and it's spinning is converted into the roller motion. That might sound fancy, but when you look at it, it is a small plastic part.
When I contacted support, they would not sell me the bearing or even to upper support assembly. The only option was to buy the whole massage mechanism, motor and all for $130.
I was frustrated, but I loved the massage, so I purchased and installed the mechanism.
It is a self contained unit, so unplug a few connectors, bolt it down... an easy replacement.
18 months later it broke again and I threw it away.
I am a 170lb man who used it maybe twice a week for 30 minutes.
In my second deconstruction, I noted it again broke in the upper support area. In my opinion, this is not a well designed chair.
